Pencil on Mayfair - 11" x 8" - 1984

This was an art school project, where I was trying to achieve a photo-like rendering with pencil. It takes an unreasonably long time to make a pencil behave that way, and I'm not sure it's really worth the effort. My subsequent drawings became quite a bit scratchier after that. Furthermore, it's just not very creative to copy somebody else's photo (Marianne Gravatte, by Richard Fegly), as I was much too fond of doing in those days...
